Does anyone know where I can get hi-perf parts for
a 2.3l hsc 4 cyl. for a 91 Tempo.This is not the 2.3 found in a
mustang or tbird.Thanx

in more concise words, not much was ever built for the HSC engine as it was never installed in any high performance cars. It has also been out of production for 10 years.

That being said, you can easily build an intake and have an exhaust bent up for it if you want to give it a little more pep in its step.

theirs lots of performance parts for the 2.3 hsc , u just gotta look harder
a camshaft out of a 1.9 escort will fit
a crankshaft from a 2.5 out of a taurus will bolt right up

the 2.5 crank will get it up to what? 110 hp?

seems like a lost cause for that. For that much trouble I'd just do an SHO swap.

ive seen an sho swap in a tempo its quick.....

sho swap,lol theres a guy with 2 v6 sho's in ONE car runing around. a super charged and plenty of turbo'ed tempos. mines in the process of getting boosted. The trans swap is only with the v6 and the excort cam swap requires heavy fab. i just ordered a set of headers completly not street legal but... if you really wanna get sum performance, there is 1 person in the world "that we know of" with blank hsc cams. u can get custom cut lifters and headers from the tempo topaz web site through a guy named TThotrod.
$219 for a cam and a complete custom 1 that is beyond a steal.
but the 2.5 liter swap, requires custom cut rods and swaped pistions it will work but no 1 has tried it yet.
otherwise you should be able to crack into 150hp without a cam or crank swap for relativly cheap, just do your homework!
