'02 7.3L diesel oilpan issues?
I went to look at a '02 Excusion last week w/ 57k miles. The dealer wanted $19k for it and so I asked if they could do better on the price. Of course, the manager said that if he hadn't spent $2000 to R&R the oil pan as those engines are known for "rotting oil pans", we could have done better on a deal. He didn't quite expect me to ask, "So what you're telling me is that in another 45k or so miles, I should expect to change the oil pan again?" He stumbled and said, "oh...well....they make revisions to the parts so this one won't." Was he full of it?
