I have an F250 HD crewcab with 7.3 turbo and automatic. It has 166,000 miles and has never given me a problem. about 2 months ago I changed all the filters and oil.

As I was pulling away from a stoplight ( easy acceleration ) all of a sudden as the it shifted into 2nd the engine had an exteme loss of power and the check engine light came on. It runs like it is missing a cylinder or two and is not really drivable.

Put scanner on and it displays P0267- cylinder 3 injector circuit low.

OK where do I go from here. I know the dealer is an option but if it is within my capability I would rather do it.

As a side note are there any good repair manuals with coverage of the powerstroke?

sounds like all you have is an injector problem on #3. Haynes makes a good manual for the powerstroke; I bought one for my '92 F350 diesel and it helped greatly when diagnosing a glow plug relay problem I had. The Haynes is at most auto parts stores and is only about 15.00. (It's called the Haynes techbook, diesel engine repair manual, manual # 10330). It has great step-by-step diagnosis and repair instructions that are easy to follow foir both GM and Ford diesel engines. You've already saved lots by getting the trouble code yourself, the injectors are an easy replacement; just make sure to keep the area clean where the injectors screw into the intake so nothing falls into the engine. You should also trouble shoot the other injectors; you may have others that are having problems. That way you can just do the job once. Good luck

Ebay has repair manuals on DVD for about $28 shipped to your door. Check the (UVC) Under Valve Cover harness. There are 4 connectors (2 on each side) that go to the injectors and glow plugs. Look for burnt or bent pins in the connectors. Check here for more help
