Question 7.3Turbo Diesel vs 7.3 Powerstroke

I just bought a 94 F-250 with the turbo diesel in it. I was wondering what the difference between the turbo and the powerstroke is? I was told that in 94 you could get the truck with a diesel(no turbo), a turbo diesel, and the 94.5 models had the powerstroke. Any help would be great.

Re: 7.3Turbo Diesel vs 7.3 Powerstroke

I've got a '94 Ford E-350 Van/Shuttle with the 7.3 Diesel. It's always been my understanding that my engine was pre-Powerstroke. Just an International 7.3...no "powerstroke", no turbo.
I'm no wrench, and don't hold me to this statement...just my $.02

Re: 7.3Turbo Diesel vs 7.3 Powerstroke

I found the info. The 94 I have has the indirect injection diesel engine which uses a mechanical injection system. The powerstroke is a direct injection engine that uses electronic type injection. Both engines have the same cubic inch, stroke, but do have different heads.
