Around this time, 20 years ago I spec'd out a new 85 F-250 diesel. I had to wait for it for 5 months. My intention was to keep it for 20 years. It still looks very sharp and only has 138 K miles so maybe another 20 years???? However the guages have been garbage since new. The fuel guages need new sending units. The pickup tubes have evidently rotted off and I only get about 11 gallons outa the tanks. I certainly can't complain about having to replace them but I have a major problem with FoMoCo charging $130.00 per sending unit. Does anyone have an alternative/source??? Ted

I know its not always the best way to find parts like sensors but a salvage yard might have working units at a far better price, also try places like NAPA auto parts or other auto parts stores to see what they have

Thanks for the reply. Parts house is out, only the dealer sells these parts. Ted
