Purchased 03 6.0 Diesel F250 with 22,000 mi on it. Ran great at first, but am noticing white smoke at startup and continuing intermittently for several miles. Still have the factory warranty, but hate dealing with the service departments.

white smoke normaly means un burnt diesel or too high wax content in the fuel i would be checking the injection timeing or changing where you buy your fuel

In my experience white smoke is deffinately water in the fuel,i would change were you buy your fuel after you have run your tank dry.

we have trucks, and for a lot of models they blow a little bit of white smoke on start up as the fuel management system is sorting itself out. no drama with them. may continue to blow a little as engine warms up and continues to adjust fuel amounts and mixtures. other than that burns clean when warm. i know we're talking about an engine half the size, but i'd expect they'd have similar principles.

yes unburnt fuel can do this . but water can do it too.
were you buy your fuel at has alot to do with it.stations that sale fuel but not alot of it can have water it their tanks. i only buy my fuel from stations that sale alota fuel , try truck stops thay'll have the cleanest fuel out their.

The 6.0 is very sensitive to fuel quality(cetane).I find alot of carboned up EGR valves,due to this.Use an additive to boast up cetane rating.Stanadyne works very well.

Do You Have To Pull Turbo And/or Intake To Replace The Egr Valve? Also I Am Getting Oil In My Coolant But Cant Find Any Coolant In My Oil. Could The Egr Valve Cause This?
