01 Escape liftgate won't unlock - Ford Forums

Any ideas on how to get it to unlock? It did this once about 2 wks ago. The looks on the doors won't unlock it or the keyless entry. Neither the door or the window will unlock. Thanks for your help!

Not a clue. However, it has unlocked itself but now it won't lock. But when you lock it w/ the keyless entry it thinks it is locked. So, when you try to open it instead of it not opening, it opens but the alarm goes off. UGH!

Sounds like the electric lock actuator. Better replace while you can still get the liftgate open.

Yes, you will need to replace the door inside unit. I just did it on 2001, it ran about $400.
