Here is a common issue you can try.
Under the seats (both sides) you will find yellow or white (or both) connectors under there. With the vehicle OFF, unplug and reconnect them. Also check the wires. If the light goes out after this, you will need to replace the connectors. Ford has issued a repair kit for them that involves cutting and splicing the wiring.
