First off, make sure all fuses are in good and tight. Expressway Ford in Waterloo, ON made this mistake with my Taurus. It was at least under warranty at the time, but the dash lights would pop on and off every so often. Turned out it was just, oh, about ten loose fuses that weren't installed properly from the FACTORY. The silly thing was, the dealer couldn't find anything wrong!
Electrical gremlins are the worst to diagnose. Perhaps someone with a similar problem will chime in...
