hello everyone, my girlfriends mom drivers a 07 or 08 mariner not sure of the year right now but when driving or riding in the car there is a very loud sounds like a whine coming from the rear of the car, im thinking wheel bearings but im not sure, but it only happens when you get up to speed can anyone confirm or deny? thanks for any help/advice
Wheel bearing noise tends to be a kind of " droning sound " . If it's coming from one side you can try throwing the load on to the other side and see if noise alters . Or jack up and spin each wheel , to see if any wear , roughness or noise

its hard to tell where its coming from and i made not have said the right name for the noise once i get more information i will post it here thanks again
A wheel bearing noise can start at low speed and build up to a constant drone .If it's one side it can disappear temporarily when cornering for instance , as load is transferred and off worn bearing . Get back to forum when you have more info and I'm sure someone will be able to help or advise you further .
