We just bought an 08 mariner two days ago and we have had the air bag light go through the diagnostics and then stay illuminated. We can restart the car and it goes right off. Has anyone else had this happen, if so how did you fix it? Of course the warranty ran out on 12/10. I may call the local dealership and see if they can help me out.

Somewhere there is a way to read the code by the flashes. It seems that most times is was for the passenger seat and all that was needed was to disconnect and reconnect the connector under the seat.

Bill is right, the flashes before the light stays lit will tell the code. Count them and see what it shows.
