I recently acquired a 2009 Mariner Premier. Neither the Owners Manual nor the Shop Manual make any reference to the cabin air filter. It seems Escapes and Mariners were designed for a cabin air filter but Ford did not always install one at the factory. I gather you access the spot where it would be installed by lifting up the cowl panel. Has anyone actually done this on an '09 (they seem to be different from earlier models)? Any tips or shortcuts?
