2002 Escape started shaking while breaking

My escape has had no major issues until this week. It started vibrating to the point of shaking when I'd stop at a stop light. It got progressively worse during a 10 minute drive from one place to the other though it ran fine earlier that day. The dealership I bought it from, diagnosed water in my ignition coil caused by the detail job I had done over a week before. My friend who detailed it was trained at the same dealership and didn't even use a hose or pressure washer, just a bucket of hot soapy water and a rag.
I thought Ignition coils were waterproof and so does everyone I talk to but the dealer. They wanted me to pay replacement of 1 coil and the drying of the remaing 5 that hadn't blown- yet I'm at 50,000 miles w/ a premium warranty which goes to 60. They're claiming they don't use a hose in any Ford engines in their detailing shop anymore- despite what I read in the user's manual saying you can use a hose, even a high pressure hose w/ care. Something is not right...
Anyone have suggestions?

Re: 2002 Escape started shaking while breaking

make a phone call to a couple of other ford dealers and just ask if it is ok to wash your engine down .

dont say yet what has happened , just want to clean the engine bay. after you have their answer you could tell them what happened and ask for their ideas .

then you will get an answer to go back to your dealer and say why is it so.????
