I have a 2002 Ford Escape, V6 DOHC. When you start it, the idle is high about 2000 RPMs and then goes down to normal. The vehicle dies on me in traffic or approaching a stop. Plugged the computer in and it had a code.
P1507: Idle Air Control Underspeed Error (see P0506)
P0506: Idle Air Control System RPM Lower Than Expected.
Do I need to replace the IAC? Or is something else causing it to put up a false code? Has anyone else had this issue?
Your problem is likely caused by the PCV tube collapsing. Generally what fails is the 90 degree elbow, unfortunately to get the elbow you have to buy the entire tube.

This is a common issue..
The updated design has a much stronger rubber elbow.
