2004 Ford Escape liftgate problem and steering column problem
I have a 2004 Escape and I am having problems with a rattling coming from the liftgate or possibly from the glass. The problem occurs when going over bumps – but not all of the time (it’s pretty sporadic). It’s starting to really grate on my nerves because it can be heard over the stereo. My wife has even sat in the back to hear where it is coming from. I have tried to pull the liftgate to see if it isn’t fitting correctly, but it seems like a very solid fit. That leads me to believe that it is something with the glass. Anyone else have problems like this?
Also, another problem we are having is with the steering column. We are getting a noise from the steering column that sounds like plastic rubbing against plastic. It’s a rather subtle noise, but just enough to be annoying. I have tried WD40, but that didn’t seem to fix it.
Any suggestions with any of these two issues would be greatly appreciated.
