Any ideas why our 2006 Mariner is hesitating during startup? It has needed to be jump started several times. I'm pretty sure that it needs a battery. But it now is also hesitating. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would check/replace the battery & check the alternator as well. Then see if that solves the problem.

You can check the battery voltage by using the diagnostic mode on the instrument cluster. It's very simple & easy.
Search this forum for Ford Self-diagnostic Mode. One of the outputs (bat) will show the battery voltage: you can check it w the engine off & with the engine on.
