2008 Escape Problems
I have had the v6 xlt escape for about a year - problems -
"rocking noise" coming from the rear when slowing down and coming to a stop - dealer replaced, rear brakes, & rear axle at 4-5 months.
Contacted a lemon law lawyer as it has been in the shop 3 times for the same repair.
Now the "transmission bolt" has broken, leaking transmission fluid - dealer says it would take at least 3 weeks for the part - ford dont even have it! I have read that apparantly 1000+ 2008 explorers' were recalled for this problem... could this be a problem in the escape as well i wonder?
"Ford is recalling 1,497 MY 2008 Explorer, Explorer Sport Track and Mercury Mountaineer sport utility vehicles equipped with the 4.6L engine and 6R transmission. The bolt securing the transmission oil cooler line fittings at the transmission may not have been sufficiently tightened during vehicle assembly. As a result, the bolt may loosen and the transmission oil cooler lines may disengage from the transmission, causing a transmission fluid leak. If leaking transmission fluid contacts the catalytic converter, it may pose a risk of fire. Dealers will inspect and have the transmission cooler line attachment bolt tightened. The recall began on August 30, 2007. 07V-453"
Anyone have any suggestions on hurrying the lemon law procedure? Has this happened to anyone? Should i buy another ford? This cost me $32,000 all together!
