2008 Ford Escape Hybrid -- High Miles -- Should I Go For the Deal?

I found a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid for sale and I'm looking for a first car to start the school year off with. The truck has 350,000 miles on it and the owner is asking $2,500, but will come down. The only problem with the truck, not including its high mileage, is the fact that the brakes are going to need to be replaced.

Also, the vehicle is a retired taxi.

Should I go for the deal? What would you ask for this truck?

Personally, I'd let it walk.Usually when a taxi service gives up on a car, it's worth giving up.

Alright, thank you. I was also thinking about how uncomfortable I would feel having knowing that my back seat would have housed thousands of people. Who knows what they would've done back there?

Have to agree, pass on the "deal." Save some more moolah, and keep looking, the right one will come along. My 2009 has been super, and it's a Hybrid.
