Have a 2008 Mariner, 6cyl, front wheel drive.

Assuming the most recent computer in these are OBD II ?

Any suggestion on a reader that will read/clear eng, abs, airbag and tranny?

Found a Autel US703 GM/Ford/Chrysler Vehicle OBD1/OBD-II $155

Autel website says will read 1984 and newer cars/trucks, but sale website says 1984 to 2008.

Not sure if it will read the new model Escape/Mariner 2008 and newer.

Check out this OBD2 package for Ford Products


It's a good Enhanced Software package for Ford cars. You can read ABS, SRS and special powertrain codes plus the generic obdII codes.

That's only an add on if you own a OBDLink ScanXL scantool.

requires a reader tool, main software and computer,
Is there a reader that will do all this in one package, i jsut want to read the air bag code, abs code.

I have a professional reader that costs $1400. I'm not sure of the home use ones. This one is supposed to work but reading the reviews, they don't have any tech help.

I know that the question is about a '08 but I know for a fact that changes were made on the '09s. I had to return a SCT Tuner that wouldn't even connect in early '09 and I emailed the dealer late in the year, nothing had changed. The DashDAQ has problems with the '09MY also. Yet SCT advertises their Tuner for the '11 Mustang. The SCT Tuner and DashDAQ work on the '10 Taurus SHO though!

I know that they have specific readers for the AirBag and ABS systems.
