2009 ford escape fuel delivery issue

I have a 2009 ford escape that is stalling. It first started in december, you stall then start, drive a bit and stall. Finally it got to the point where it would start and stall immediatly when trying to idle.

Dealer changed the Throttle position sensor, no change.
Dealer then changed the gas tank pressure sensor valve.

Vehicle started and would idle again.

Assumed fixed,

It stalled 2 or 3 times again

Then last week, I back it out of my garage, park it in the driveway, go back 4 hours later to move it back into the garage. Again it starts and stalls. Wont idle.

Had it towed to the dealer. Mechanic tries it in the yard. Same thing. Pulls it into the garage. Starts fine. They kept it over night and continued to try it. No issues.

Tonight driving home doing 80kmph, engine just shut off. I put it in neutral, coasted to the side road. put it in park and started it again..it then ran fine the rest of the way home.

Anyone have an idea whats going on? I can't trust this vehicle anymore, may stall or quit at anytime. Dealer have no clue

Almost sounds like you have something loose in the gas tank.

What's in the gas tank? Just the fuel pump? Ive asked them about the fuel pump and i feel thats what it is, but they seem to think otherwise

No codes.

Also tonight on my way home from hockey, happened twice. Driving about 60, engine just dies. I pull over, put it in park, turn off the key, and then start again.

Now atleast it starts. Previsouly, it would start and not idle and quit.

Im taking it to the dealer in the morning, time to start hitting it with parts,

Im thinking of just replacing the fuel pump. This way it eliminates the main item in the fuel delivery and also they can make sure all connections are good.

I'm thinking maybe throttle body issue. Check air filter fit and possibly debris in MAF to start.

The trottle body has been replaced also.

The dealer called me, they feel it might be a faulty Fuel Driver Module.

I said change it.

I will have it back tomorrow.

Likely will take a few weeks to test unless it stalls again right away.

I suppose it's possible. Change them all the time on trucks. Only a few on cars because they are mounted inside the vehicle typically.

I have never seen a faulty FPDM on an escape EVER. Are you sure they changed the ETB it looks all shiny and new? These also had an issue with the canister purge valve sticking open as did the f150's of the same year and they would stall all the time going down the road etc. If it has not been changed I would change it because its going to fail anyway, cheap part and 3min install.

Re: 2009 ford escape fuel delivery issue

When I first had the issue in December, they changed the ETB.

Made no change to the issue until they changed also the Gas Tank pressure valve.

Then it worked and we assumed it fixed,

Now im having the issue again.

I can see the ETB is brand new and they also gave me the old one in the box because they said it was obviously not that and i replaced it for nothing.
