2009 Ford Escape rear suspension clunk

Recently changed the rear shocks on my wife's 2009 ford escape fwd. it has now and before I changed the shocks a clunk when hitting certain bumps. Certain bumps meaning, rough railroad crossings, dips, big bumps in the road. I have looked at everything under the rear suspension. Upper and lower Ball joints, sway bar bushings, end links, everything under the rear suspensions. All checked out good. Took it to shop today to get an alignment and had them check out rear clunking. They said everything was good. He said it took a pretty good bump to get it to clunk. He said the rear sway bar end links had little play in them. Anyone else ever experience this problem? Thoughts?

Replacing the rear sway bar links would be a good place to start .

Agree with R.S. If shop found play in end links they would cause a clunk
