2010 Escape..Ford ESP a good investment?

Hi all,

I've been dealing on a 2010 Escape 2WD with 27000 miles on it this weekend. I have always purchased an extended warranty for all my vehicles just for peace of mind and the fact that I put 24000 miles a year on my vehicle due to work commute. In the past I have been able to get the dealer to just about match any online ESP prices but this time they won't budge. Are there any reputable places to buy the ESP online and know that I truly got a valid ESP?

I realize there are a ton of opinions on whether or not the ESP is worth it but I will say that two of the three times I purchased one, it has paid for itself hands down and I have never had any issues with a dealer honoring the ESP. I always go for the Premium Care and $0 deductible.

Any insight would be great as to where I should purchase from. I am located in SE Michigan.

Thanks a bunch all,

Rob

Is there a big difference on cost ? if not I would stick with the dealer and pay the extra for peace of mind .

I did a little research on third party warranty when we bought our Grand Prix, a large number of them have unhappy clients. I decided to save our money and take a chance. Even after having to pay for a transmission rebuild, I haven't paid as much as an extended warranty.

Re: 2010 Escape..Ford ESP a good investment?

Thanks for the replies. We could not reach a deal on the Escape so I am still searching. There are a ton of them around so I will keep at it. I found a place online to buy genuine Ford ESP contracts with good feedback by several people on various forums. The price difference online vs at the dealer was nearly $600 in my case, may be more or less for others depending on the dealer.

Take care all,

Rob

Re: 2010 Escape..Ford ESP a good investment?

I know this reply is months late, but we just became forum sponsors and we sell Genuine Ford ESPs online at www.TroyFordESP.com

These are Genuine Ford plans identical to what most dealers (including us) sell at the dealership. When we sell online we do offer them for hundreds off and it is a great deal for the consumers.

While we are not the only online retailer of Genuine Ford ESPs I can proudly say we are the cheapest and I believe, obviously, we are the best at it.

Most Ford ESPs are between $800-$1500. All extended warrantys are essentially a type of insurance. You hope you never need it, but if you do it will be worth the investment. While Ford vehicles have good quality, it is a machine and things can go wrong.

We also offer 11 months same as cash, which makes Ford Warantys even more affordable.

Thanks
Greg
