I just bought a 2010 Mercury Mariner 2wd 4cl. engine. I have had it for 1 month before the check engine light came on. Took it to my nearest dealer and they said it was a bad cylinder head temp. sensor. They said they temporarily fixed it as it was a "bad wiring" mount/harness. Took it to my dealership and they said the same thing, but the part was on backorder. Now my engine light is on again. It has been a week since I took it to my dealership. Why are parts for new cars on backorder? And could this potentially hurt my vehicle to drive it like this? Who can be contacted about this problem with the backordered parts?
I'd take it back and tell them the light is on again. They have to at least have the light problem turned off. If you want to contact Ford, in the back of the owners manual is an 800 number.
