So I was informed that the cabin air filter needed to be changed on my 05 mariner. I decided to save a bit of money and just change it myself. I was able get a cabin air filter and some instructions to change it. I followed the instructions and when I got to changing the filter there was no filter already there....

I thought I must be mistaken so I looked around and couldn't find where else it could be. I placed it in what looked like the correct tray and put everything back together.

I am a little confused though, did I do something wrong? Anyone have better instructions to do this?

My 2005 Escape Hybrid did not come with a cabin filter either. I installed one and recommend you check it yearly and replace as needed which is usually around 12,000 miles.

A number of Escape models did not come w the cabin filter.
I would guess the same is true for the Mariner.
