Hello my check engine light has been on for about a month now and my car is starting to stutter when in park or when the brake peddle is depressed. I cant find any reliable shops in my area (I live in a small town) with a machine to check my code. So I took a video of my engine light code blinking and was wondering if anybody would tell me what it means.

Could be a plug or coil breaking down , also check all vac hoses / pipes for leaks .Without getting a diagnostic really just an educated guess .

Thank you for the info the light came on after a really bad snowstorm when the car was sitting in the snow for a couple days. Isnt the blinking engine light supposed to give off some kind of code to tell you whats wrong?

Could try drying all engine electrics , plugs etc .You could always buy a code reader if there are no garages near you who could carry out a diagnostic read .

normally the engine light is on steady. When it blinks you have a problem. It means don't drive the car.

On steady means REAL PROBLEM NOW, and you should get it checked and repaired to avoid causing permanent damage. Blinking means malfunctions have occurred, but may not be occurring right now.
Code readers are less than $30 if you check around. Harbor Freight will send you one relatively inexpensively if you do not have access locally. As noted some parts stores will extract the codes, and present you with a printout of what they find. It helps them sell products to the do it yourself type person. If you have a laptop computer with USB port, there are programs that will let you read codes after you purchase the proper connecting wire setup.

I had that problem with a chevt astro, I used a code reader and the light would blink a pattern. Watch the pattern and it had a corresponding problem. I don't know if this is a set pattern but if it is it may be telling you what to look for. You need to stop by an Oreily's or Auto Zone, they will read it. When I purchased the cheap inepensive code reader and plugged it in, it actually reset and fixed my problem. Go figure
