Crusie Control drops Out

I have an 08 Escape that I really like, took a long trip the last two weeks and after about 4 hours the cruise control kicked off and would not come back on. The next morning or a couple hours later it works for 3 or 4 more hours. sounds to me like something is overheating and shutting down. The dealer won't fix what they can't find. anyone seen this before?

Re: Crusie Control drops Out

I had a problem with my cruise on my '99 Taurus years ago shortly after I bought it. The dealer managed to duplicate the problem, as soon as you encountered a hill it would disengage, which was very annoying. I can't remember the fix for it but I'll see if I still have the record of that visit to the dealer.

Cruise controls are vacuum operated for the most part. Dealer should be able to find a solution and check for vacuum leaks.
