My wife's '03 Escape 4WD seems to have a rumble/growl in the left front. While I haven't done any investigating yet am curious if this is a common or not unusual problem with these vehicles. Doing a search here doesn't seem to indicate any problem areas but I may not have used the correct search terms.

Does any one have a shop manual drawing of the left front hub/CV they could scan and forward here so I can do my search other then with hope and blind luck or lack thereof??

Hi JDW, My wifes 04 had the same problem, turned out to be the wheel bearing, had the left one changed at a shop to the tune of $200.00, a couple of months later,the right side started making noise, I changed that one myself, cost about $70.00 for the bearing. Plus a 12 pack and a couple of hours of work, not a big deal but you will need a press, Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks - that's my guess as well, but did want to see if anyone else has had the problem. I think I'll take a look at it - and just replace the @#$% thing - both sides.
