Hi. Guys, first time on here,I own a 2008 Escape LTD, my question is I would like to leave my car run to warm-up with the key in the ignition (-40F outside, no remote start) can I lock the car using the drivers door outside keypad by just pressing one button or do I have put the full code in. Any help is appreciated

I believe that the 2008's are the same as 2005-2007 models in that the door will automatic unlock if you lock it with the keys in the ignition.

I leave my key in all the time to do the same thing. I hold the two last buttons down on keypad, and it locks the doors - never unlocks them. I need to re-enter the code to unlock the doors. Hold last two buttons together down and should lock for you while in ignition.
