firstly am not american spekaing human so forgive the words sometimes,
i am mercury mariner 06 luxury edition owner,and i got a question about its engine
my custom cam is bad,because of crash,i need to get a new one and i found on american pages that the Duaretc 30 V6 the engine which was originally inside MARINER is the same as a Duratec 25L V6,they were puting this engine D25 V6 in ford mondeos in europe,and i would like to ask somebody if it is possible to use the custom cam or head for D 30 V6 from D25 V6,i found that only diference is,that the bore on D25 is 82,9mm and on D30 it is around 89mm,and itis cheaper for me to get the parts from D 25 V6 because of price,because older mondeos versions are everywhere in europe

I would think it would work. Take the two cams and compare the dimensions of lift and duration. Lift is the cam high spot diameter compared to the cam low spot diameter. Duration is how long the cam will hold the valve open. You should also compare the point in rotation of the cam where the high spot occurs. If they are the same, it should bolt in.
Be aware that the front cam, the exhaust cam for cylinders 4,5,6, has an extension to drive the water pump which I think the 2.5 used to drive the distributor. I worked on a 2.5 in a 1995 Probe{Mazda MX6 "twin"} which had the distributor mounted there.

I would advise you not to try any such intricate things by trial and error methods. Better consult the dealer, especially because it is related to engine. There are chances that things may get more complicated. Is your vehicle is still under warranty?

mmariner: Came to find out the 2.5 is Mazda designed and the 3.0 duratec is Porsche designed. No luck there. However, you can use a 2001{2?} engine if you change front cover and passenger side motor mount bracket. The cam should work if the water pump is in the same location.
