well a friend of mine has a meter for codes..
my engine light came on
code is po401 egr valve,,insuffiecent flow detected
so bought a new egr valve with gasket from the dealer and installed and cleared the code....
couple of days later , engine ligfht is back...
next step?
It was not a problem with the EGR valve. It was a code for the DPFE sensor. Very common part to fail causing that code. Ford even extended the warranty on "Tube mounted" DPFE sensors an additional 2 years/24,000 miles beyond factory for free replacement.
