Pantherman Registered User Join Date: Mar 2004 Posts: 2	Escape 2004/2005 engine question (2.3 L 16 valve Duratec) I have been looking at Escapes with the dream of owning one, however the only way that i can get it in a manual transmission (which I love to drive) is with the Duratec 23, a 2.3 L engine with 16 valves. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the wear factors of these engines in the Escape, or warnings or praises of any kind. (I'd have gotten the V6 with a manual transmission in it, but the dealerships say that can't be done.)
