:1speaker: Good news! The Escape's mileage seems to improve after the first few thousand miles? I was just reading the old Escape MPG poll posted here for 2003 Escape owners and was wondering if anyone else had experienced improved mileage after owning your Escape for awhile? I found a couple of owner gas mileage reports on the net. This one looks like the best:

Check out this Escape MPG owners poll (there are over :AAHHH: 400 votes!!)

This happens with every vehicle - after the first oil change, you should see a slight increase. They say there is no "break in period" with a new car, but they only mean that to imply that there are no RPM or speed restrictions with the new engine; once the engine components settle in a bit you'll see an improvement.

I'll be switching to full synthetic as soon as my '09 4-cylinder gets to 5k, but it probably won't help since the viscosity is already 5w20.
