ford escape xlt shakes at 4000rpm - Ford Forums

I just bought a 02 xlt - it runs great...but when parked or in neutral and I rev it up it shakes and judders when i get to 4000rpm..any ideas why?

All engines will move when you accelerate. It's more noticeable when the the vehicle isn't moving since the suspension helps take away some of the driveline vibrations that you are feeling. If it seems a bit more pronounced, then perhaps the trans mounts or engine mounts are on their way out and need replacing, even a half decent mechanic should be able to diagnose that one!
