Any moving part can go bad and can't be ruled out, but before spending a whole bunch of money and time on guesses, try lubing anything that can be lubed. Just do one or two components at a time to avoid confusion.If it doesn't actually have grease fittings, get some white lithium grease in a spray form and spray it into the mating surfaces. If the noise decreases, you found it, if it doesn't, well unfortunately it still could be it, but the grease didn't penetrate far enough.
I've had older shocks and struts do this, particularly after having the car lifted.
