Heated mirror not working on 2008 Escape Limited - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi all,

I just noticed yesterday that my drivers side heated mirror is no longer working. The passenger one is still hot and works fine.

My question is...how to fix it? Is there a heating element to be replaced, or the whole glass piece or as my luck would be, do you have to replace the entire mirror assembly?

The glass itself could be the problem. You'd have to check for power at the wire there when the system is on as the starting point.

Thanks Bert! I got a price on the glass. Under $50CDN which is very good. One more question though. How do you pop the glass off without breaking the mirror clips at the back? I have heard on other cars when you pull the mirror off, the clips will snap off. Thanks.

What year is it? I'd check with a glass shop. They often have them cheaper and can replace them very quickly. There's a special tool to remove them but a shop should be able to do it for the price.
