Hello, i am wondering if any of you guys have installed HID's for a 2005 Mercury Mariner or similar generation. Has anyone had any problems (like say, blinking lights after an install such as dodge vehicles)? throwing codes etc? My cousin wants HID's for his wife.

I have installed HIDs on a Dodge F250 with the consequence of blinking lights due to their stupid electrical failure detection system, of course 2 simple 8ohm resistors solved it. But i would like to know if any problems would occur or arise with a 2005 Mercury Mariner and if i would need anything else to solve/bypass.

There are circuits that monitor the amount of current drawn for all exterior lighting. Maybe not back in 2005 but currently they do have their own set of DTC's. If the HID draws more current you may have a problem.
