Hooking up AUX input for the 2005 Escape?

My GF just got a car dock for her Verizon Droid, she discovered Pandora and wants to run it through her factory stereo. I'm pretty advanced when it comes to wiring stereo's but I start from scratch and have rarely started butchering a factory wiring. Does anyone know how to wire in an aux input?
Thanks.

Re: Hooking up AUX input for the 2005 Escape?

I am wondering the same question but regarding a 2007 Mercury Mariner with the audiphile system.

I think you must first purchase and install the aux.- rca adapter which you plug into a harnass of the stereo and then you can install a 3.5mm female jack to rca cable to the adapter. Then you plug the mp3 player into the jack.

Am I correct on this? and also, does anyone know which adapter I would have to get for the audiophile system?

Re: Hooking up AUX input for the 2005 Escape?

Hello, I just bought a 2007 Mercury Mariner with the audiphile system, and noticed the AUX button is disabled.

I Looked on a few car radio web sites last night, and found they sell "AUX input adapters" for some OEM radios. Having a "satellite ready" receiver also changed things. Mine didn't seem to be listed, as there were very few adapters listed after 2006.

For now, I will wire-up a Delphi RF modulator that was made for the XM SKIFi car kit. This will provide an AUX input thru the antenna connection. It is a little sensitive to input level, and it may be EQed for the SKYFi receiver - but that's what I want to hook up!
