I have a 2009 escape 3.0L and want to install a hitch. Where does the hith bolt on to? Also i noticed a secured wire harness with a female plug on the inside of my bumper. Would the be the trailer harness?

Yes that wiring harness you see under the bumber is the trailer lights hookup. You simply order in the harness, Mine was something like 85$ canadian. Not sure how much the markup. Once thing that bothered me was the hitch had no attachment for the 4pin trailer connector. I went to princess auto and found a plastic thingy with a large magnet and it goes over the 4pin connector and stuck to my hitch. The hitch comes with bolts and simply bolt it on to the holes in the frame. was pretty easy if you can get under and have air tools.
