I love most everything about my new 2012 Escape ... except the hood .. it is a bit heavy for me to lift ... called my dealer in Orchard Park, NY and they couldn't help me ... has anyone added a hood strut?? I was use to the Explorer having one and now the Escape doesn't.

Having seen a hood strut close on my neighbor's head while looking at a brand new car, I'd never trust one myself. I own that very car now and use a adjustable prop rod.
