Is it "Normal" wear & tear on a 2006 Mariner with 24,000 miles to need front end Toner Ring replacements. I'm told by the dealer these are "rusted out" thereby activating ABS & 4WD light - thanks

If the light goes off and when you get to 5MPH it comes back on, it's either the sensors or tone rings. I've never heard of them rusting out but here in Oregon, we don't have rust problems.

thanks for your post Bert - Left and right toner rings replaced by dealer, not covered by warranty. Don't know why I'm being penalized cause I have low mileage on a vehicle puchased new with cheap Ford parts

Cracked tone rings are fairly common on fords.

We've never had any crack and we have had over 200 Fords in our fleet. Many models too.
