I just recently bought a used 2008 Mariner and the horn soesnt work. I have checked the fuse and relay switch and they both are fine. Since we have taken the bumper loose to get out headlight and the one horn that has two wires spliced out of the main channel of wires that goes to the horn. We assumed the horn wasnt grounded but when we grounded those two loose wires it didnt help. I have searched the net for wiring colors to help us know exactly if those are ground wires or not but havent found anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do these vehicles come with more than one horn?

There's only one horn. The yellow/red is the hot wire from the relay, and the black/green is the ground. Be sure to double check the fuse and relay after grounding both wires and trying the horn.

OK thanks for the reply! Im obviously going to have to get some help because the wires are a yellow/green and a purple/black so I assume its safe to say those dont go to the horn...Just odd someone would leave two wires not connected...Any idea what those would go to?? Same main wire goes to the horn and headlights and then those that are spliced out and just there going to nothing...One last question where is the smart junction box? I have looked in the manual but cant find anything on it. Thanks in advance for the input

The SJB appears to be under the dash.

Actually I think the SBJ is right behind and/or part of the interior fuse panel. IIRC, one or more relays, etc. are mounted there on the exterior and can be replaced.
