My wife's 2009 Mercury Mariner has a factory stereo
in it with a Sirius XM button on it. However, it does not have a satellite antennae mounted on the outside.
What does it take to make the vehicle satellite ready? Can I simply buy a satellite antennae and cable that will plug into the back of it to make it satellite ready?
We bought the Mariner at CarMax and they spoke to the guy they use to install satellite radios in vehicles for them and he quoted $399.00 for parts and labor to make it satellite ready. That sounds awfully high for a stereo that has what appears to be a satellite equipped radio in it already.
