I'm new here so I don't know if this has been answered before. I have an '02 Escape 3.0 . I had the battery disconnect to clean the terminal posts. The same day, after I reconnected the cables, I took it to get smogged and the tech said it didn't pass because some of the systems weren't ready. I told him that I had the battery unhooked earlier and he said it takes a while for the computer to "reset". I'm wondering how long or how many miles will it take to reset so I can get it smogged?

it can vary but probably in 50-100 miles. it will take a couple of cold starts, some highway driving, idling, etc. to fully reset "readiness".
