Please help with my 2003 Ford Escape

Hello and thanks first of all for taking the time to read my post.
I went to turn the key and I got the dash lights to turn but the engine did not turn at all not even a click or anything of that sort. I does weird things when turning the key like dash lights flicker my speedometoer arrow goes all over the place, my odometer starts to post little square like boxes on the display [][][][][][] something kind of like that. When I messed with the light switch and tried to turn the key again i got a flicking sound and a noice that was coming from the relay box. The HL RELAY MICRO was clicking a lot so I was wondering if this could be relay related or what???

Thanks

Hi
I've seen the symptoms you describe when the battery is very weak (low on charge) or the terminals are loose/corroded. Have a look at these first and let us know if there's a problem or not. cheers

Sorry It took me so long to reply but you were both right. I pulled out the battery and took it to Autozone and they tested it for me. Bad Battery indeed. Popped a new battery in and she cranked right up. Thanks a million guys.. Only problem I have now is that I need to change the sparkplugs but they charge an arm and a leg for labor since 3 plugs are hidden under the air intake.

Removal of the intake is needed, but someone with time and patience can do this job at home.
