So my daughter is parking on the street in front of her house and wanted to get as close to the curb as possible. In doing so she rubbed the black layer off the sidewall of her RWL tire so it looks like this, can I just remount the 2 front tires so it is on the inside or do I need to buy 4 new tires?
I'm almost scared to answer questions like this in case something were to happen due to a blowout. I suggest taking it to a reputable tire dealer and have them inspect the tire for damage. There could possibly be damage to the sidewall as its the weakest part of a tire. If you do switch them around, be sure to mark the original direction of rotation on the tire so you'll know what goes where. Sometimes changing the rotating direction can unravel the steel belts causing a tire to separate.
