Ford to recall 474,000 Escapes, Mazda Tributes

Reuters

DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. on Friday said it was recalling more than 474,000 Escape and Mazda Tribute SUVs because the accelerator cable may prevent the engine from returning to the idle position and may increase stopping distance.

The vehicles in the recall are from the 2002-2004 model years.

No injuries or accidents have been linked to the recall, Ford spokeswoman Kristen Kinley said.
