I would like to buy an Escape with the V6 engine but it looks like the only one offered is the flex fuel V6?

I have one in my Sporttrac that hasn't helped me any in 5 years. Can one get a "normal" gasoline V6 with the Escape?

flex fuel is no big deal at all does not do anything other than let you run e85
the V6 is a pretty nice engine. I live in Colorado and driving over the mountain 10,000' passes it works great!

A lot of the domestic vehicle engines are flex fuel capable. It's nothing to worry about if you want to run 87 octane.

What E85 does is allow you to use a 15% regular fuel mixed with 85% ethanol fuel. This is somewhat considered to be environmentally responsible, however you can drive 30% farther on the same amount of regular gasoline than you can with ethanol.
