A lot of the domestic vehicle engines are flex fuel capable. It's nothing to worry about if you want to run 87 octane.
What E85 does is allow you to use a 15% regular fuel mixed with 85% ethanol fuel. This is somewhat considered to be environmentally responsible, however you can drive 30% farther on the same amount of regular gasoline than you can with ethanol.
