I have a 2009 Ford Escape, which I bought used with only 5000 miles. I love this vehicle, but I have noticed that just PLAIN WATER leaves stains on the seats! This doesn't seem right. It rained pretty hard the other night and after getting into the vehicle, I noticed that there were spots from the rain. I assumed they would go away after they dried, but they are still there!

I had seen that there was a issue with cloth seats on older models. Does anyone else have this problem? Or does anyone know if there is a solution to fix it?

Funny i just came accross this article.

I have a 2009 also, salt stains all over the seats. I had my ford in at the dealer for regular maintenance and the service tech called me and said, if I complained about my seats, they would replace them for free!

So i did and just friday had the new seat covers installed. A new darker material, really like them. I asked them why and they just said the other material was no good.

SO i did some digging and found that they started using this new eco material made from Soy. This material caused tons of complaints so ford are replace for poeple who complain for free.

So talk to your dealer..they did it for me.
