Winter Storage

Is it safe to use Sta-Bil in an `08 V-6? I am heading south for the winter next week and leaving the Mariner up north here.

I've used Sta-Bil in all my gas motors for many years, but none of them had fuel injection.

Re: Winter Storage

According to their FAQ page, Sta-Bil is safe for fuel injectors.
You can do an internet search for the stuff to verify.

Re: Winter Storage

I've let mine set for 8 monthes and not put anything in the tank. As long as it's not in a hot area you should be okay. Just make sure the tank is full. That prevents condensation from forming to much.

Re: Winter Storage

I think that the use of Sta-Bil is more for small engines than anything else.

I have a car that sits in the garage for months without starting and when needed, starts with no problem. I do have a trickle charger on it though!

It'll be safe. Just be sure to disconnect both battery cables before you go. Who knows...after the new year I might see you down there. I head down to Destin FL twice a year. Once in Jan, and once around late April early May before the tourists get down there in force.
