New ECU won't change gears.

I have a 95 ranger with a 2.3L, I4, 2wd, auto trans (I know it's the Mazda engine). I had a problem with a faulty fuel injector, but tracked it to the ECU. So I changed it, well now my tranny is stuck in 3rd gear. (didn't have the problem before) I looked up the part number from 4 different auto parts stores and all have the same part number. (cardone #78-5961). I tried two different ECU's and same issue. On a lite note though, my fuel injecter problem is fixed. Is there a version for auto trans? Or can someone know the correct part for my problem?
Thank You
Doug
